Japanese Geta, a traditional form of Japanese footwear resembling a cross between clogs and flip-flops.
Description:
This particular geta features a light blue wooden base with a painted face design, possibly a boy wearing a hat, and a yellow, textured circle resembling a fruit or ball. The thong is made of a light brown, possibly burlap-like, fabric.
Purpose:
Geta are traditionally worn with Japanese clothing like kimonos or yukatas, elevating the foot above the ground.
This was my mom’s when she was little and living in Japan. I only have the one shoe.
